  • 23. Co-Owner One Take Productions. Liverpool. I direct, produce, edit and specialise in filming corporate events and promotional videos for businesses, councils, schools and charities. I love my job!
I eventually want to work worldwide working on documentaries for bands/artists or on travel programmes.

My other loves include football, gigs, music and having good times with friends. I also write a film review blog, as I see that many films I thought I would put my thoughts to use.

This blog gives me a chance to just get down what I'm thinking, feeling, watching or doing.

The rest of this week

Is going to be mental!

Starting with tonight I have to do some prep for an interview that I have just got for tomorrow.  Then it’s getting ideas down for our Helena Homes production, which also has to be edited into a first draft by next Wednesday night.

Tomorrow I have to make ammendments to a DVD for 1 of our clients (has to be in by the end of the week), having a meeting with our accountant and then the interview.

Thursday and friday i am working and editing…

MENTAL!!

But…on saturday i am off to the Merseyside Derby!!!! Got a ticket oooshhhh

After filming yesterday and today I cannot believe how many amazing people that we filmed for/with last year, are out of work due to the government cuts!

Last year we produced 2 big films over the summer covering events that were going on to help children stay off the streets, keep small businesses going and to help local communities come together and help the poorest communities when times were at there worst.

Now after meeting a woman we had the priviledge to film for last year, we learnt that a lot of the people that ran these events were made redundant and the events were all scrapped.  We knew the events had been scrapped but we did not know that the people who put everything in to help others had lost their jobs.

Now communities are back to having no help, the kids that were off the street are now back on them and local businesses are going bust.

This is so wrong on so many levels.  I always knew the cuts were bad but I didn’t realise just how bad.   It just shows how out of touch the government actually are.

its great when

A business meeting goes your way!

We went in for an hours meeting with one of our clients and came out with 1 massive editing job and 2 filming days that will keep us very busy from now until the end of October.

Getting started with everything tonight, there’s a lot of work to be done :)

Looking forward to the challenge!
